A friend of ours who was working in the mines in Clovis, New Mexico, had the responsibility of setting off the explosives. One particular day he was ready to push the switch when someone tapped him on the shoulder. To his surprise no one was anywhere around. Deciding that it must have been his imagination, he started once again to detonate the explosion when he felt another tap on his shoulder. Again, no one was there, so he decided to move all the ignition equipment several hundred feet back up the tunnel. When he finally plunged the charger, the whole top of the tunnel caved in exactly where he had been standing. A coincidence? You could never make our friend believe that. He knew someone had tapped him on the shoulder.
This verse 11 says, “For He will give His angels charge concerning you!” What does that mean? Think with me for a moment! Have you ever taken charge of a situation? When you take charge of something, you put yourself in a place of leadership. You begin telling everyone what to do and how to do it. If angels are taking charge of the things that concern us, God has given the angels, not the circumstances, the authority to act on our behalf.

PeggyJoyce,I have been buying your books for years and giving them away. Not long ago, my former postman, Mike, saw an employee of ours named Lupe and asked her if I still had any of the Psalm 91 books. I had given him one years ago when his family was going through something. He said he reads the book everyday and it was falling apart. I had a new Psalm 91 book just waiting for a new owner and and Lupe said she would give it to him when she saw him at the Catholic Church the next week. She delivered the book and Mike was very happy. Mike was unusual postman in that he prayed for the people he delivered mail to as he made his rounds. I miss seeing him and sharing what God was doing in our lives. Just discovered this website and thought you should know that Mike read your book until it fell apart. God bless you, Bill, Angie, and your whole family. We really enjoyed meeting you at church a number of years ago, when we were in Brownwood. Your California distributor, Lila O'Connell

I have experienced the Angels intervention in my life in a visual manner twice when I was young. Both situations were immediately dire and God had to intervene or i would have died. One I will tell is i was leaving my job in retail late. I was going to pull out onto the main street when suddenly a man appeared in the passenger seat and screamed "STOP THE CAR. NOW"! I was so shocked because not only did he appear and shout that but he disappeared. So in my shock at seeing him I did slam on the brakes! Not 2 seconds went by but an 18-wheel truck zoomed past on the street, with his lights off. Had I pulled out into the street, I would most certainly have been killed. There was a truck stop just up the road and I believe the driver had pulled out to return to the freeway without noticing he hadn't turned his lights on. But God......He knew and he sent His angel just as psalm 91 says.

Wow, what a fantastic story! Thanks for sharing. Are angels sent to help those who will receive salvation? And prayers over our lives by others can also have a great effect. Either way, it's very wonderful to hear your protection story. We won't know the full extent of angelic protection on our lives until we get to heaven but you certainly know that one. God's angels obey the voice of His Word! Praise God!
